WIPO Global Awards 2024

Small businesses and startups can enter the WIPO 2024 Global Awards competition up to 31st March 2024.

The Awards recognise meritorious SMEs drawn from the range of global business activity - local and international brands, green-tech innovators and representatives from the creative industries, among others. Winners receive mentoring to support their IP strategies - including fund raising, partnership opportunities, publicity support and more.

ADR highlights

During 2023, the WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center was involved in the resolution of 679 IP, innovation, and technology disputes, a 24% increase from 2022 and a 280% increase in the past five years.

Madrid System

WIPO has launched a redesigned and restructured eMadrid homepage for filing an application for and managing international trademark registrations.

The Organization has also announced a programme of webinars on eMadrid in seven languages. The webinars will take place during February and March.

Hague System

Greece and Italy have both ratified the Geneva Act (1999). It will take effect in Greece on 13th February and Italy on 14th March 2024. This means there are 73 Contracting Parties to the Act, including all the EU Member States who had previously acceded to the 1960 Hague Act.
