Section 52 of the UK Copyright, Designs and Patents Act caps the useful life of copyright for many types of article at 25 years from the point where the article was industrially applied.  It was repealed in 2014, to take account of the CJEU Flos decision C-168/09 (on the Arco lamp).  This would have extended the liftetime of protected industrially applied works from 25 years to life-plus-70.  But the repeal has to be implemented to be effective, and the implementing legislation was suddenly withdrawn a few months ago.  Well, another consultation went live today at 4:30, running until 9th December, here:
