New edition of Look-Alike Chart
An updated version of the Look-Alike Chart, summarising the law on look-alikes in 47 jurisdictions, has been published.
MARQUES members can download the chart from the Unfair Competition Team page on the MARQUES website (log-in required).
The chart provides easy-to-view summaries of the law on lookalikes in 47 jurisdictions. It has been updated to include the latest legal developments.
It addresses questions such as: rights in get-up/trade dress, protection under unfair competition law, how rights are acquired, infringement, court actions including evidence requirements and existing rights, costs, customs measures and criminal actions.
A version of the chart will be made available to delegates attending the 36th MARQUES Annual Conference.
The chart is based on contributions from correspondents in each jurisdiction covered. The following Team members coordinated the latest edition: Bence Bozoki (Mars), Anne-Virginie La Spada (BMG Avocats), Felipe Dannemann Lundgren (Dannemann Siemsen Bigler & Ipanema Moreira), Yana Tsygankova (Rouse International) and Selma Unlu (NSN Law Firm).
A Talking MARQUES podcast on the look-alike chart is planned to be broadcast early next month.
