Tuesday Trade Mark Treats: EURO 2008
To mark the 2008 UEFA European Football Championship, commonly referred to as Euro 2008, the German edition of the Financial Times gives an interesting overview of the legal pitfalls of ambush marketing in
connection with major sporting events (here, in German). The article includes a special segment on EURO 2008 and trade mark matters and stresses that UEFA owns trade mark registrations for "EM 2008", "Euro 2008", "Uefa Euro 2008" as well as for the slogan "Expect Emotions".
PS: International trade mark No. 869651 (left) and International trade mark No. 919230 (right) both in the name of Union des Associations Européennes de Football (UEFA).
