Sunrise over Montenegro
Tomorrow is the closing day of the Montenegrin Sunrise Period (1 to 6 May), during which only applicants from Montenegro may apply for a URL suffixed by the country-level domain .me formula. From 6 to 20 May there is a General Sunrise Period during which trade mark owners may apply for a domain based on any registered trade mark worldwide. If more than one application is received for a domain during this phase - as is always likely to happen, given that the same word may be registered as a trade mark for different goods and services - the competing applicants for the same URL must participate in an auction in order to secure the domain.
