"In comparison with 2012, National Trade marks grew by 2%, registering a total of 17.805 applications. Given the high sensitivity of these Intellectual Property Rights, relative to the economic climate, the verified increase in demand is extremely positive.
International applications exhibited even more significant growth rates, with the volume of Community Trade mark applications of Portuguese origin rising 6%, while the WIPO registered a considerable increase (+ 45%) in the number of International applications submitted by residents of Portugal.
