Khao Hom Mali Thung Kula Rong-Hai, by any other name, would not be as glutinous
This blogger isn't certain -- perhaps readers can confirm whether this is the case -- but he thinks that Commission Implementing Regulation 120/2013 of 11 February 2013 entering a name in the register of protected designations of origin and protected geographical indications (ข้าวหอมมะลิทุ่งกุลาร้องไห้ (Khao Hom Mali Thung Kula Rong-Hai) (PGI)) might be the first piece of European Union law that provides GI protection in the area for a product originating from Thailand.

Khao Hom Mali Thung Kula Rong-Hai, by any other name, would not be as glutinous
If, as is likely, you are not familiar with the term 'Khao Hom Mali Thung Kula Rong-Hai', Class 46 can tell you that it is a fragrant jasmine rice which is grown in five provinces in North-East Thailand. It has a glutinous consistency. The protection process apparently took some two years.
