MARQUES appoints a new Executive Director
MARQUES is very pleased to announce that it has appointed Christopher Barnard as its Executive Director. This is a new role created to meet the expanding influence of MARQUES in the IP world over the last few years. His appointment begins on 1 March 2013 in time to meet all the members of the MARQUES Council and Teams at the MARQUES Spring Meeting in Barcelona on 7-8 March 2013.
Chris Barnard originally comes from New Zealand, where he qualified and worked as a lawyer before taking a job in-house with The Coca Cola Company. He went on to have a long and distinguished career working for The Coca Cola Company for 32 years, covering various legal roles, including responsibility for IP matters and Brand Protection, and based in many locations including Auckland, Sydney, Atlanta, Tokyo, and London, before becoming an independent consultant. Chris now lives and works in London.
With his extensive legal background and broad experience of working in-house, Chris is the ideal person to understand the needs and desires of MARQUES members and will be a great asset to the MARQUES team in its continuing role in the promotion and development of the interests of Trade Mark Owners.
