New fees in Ireland for series marks
Ireland has amended the fees payable for certain trade mark and patent matters with effect from 1 February, 2012 with the minimum of fanfare. The change of most importance for trade mark practitioners is the introduction of a fee of €50 on application for each mark in a series in excess of two. The changes can be found in S.I. No. 30 of 2012, Patents, Trade Marks and Designs (Fees) (Amendment) Rules, 2012, available in the "legislation" section of the Irish Patents Office website http://www.patentsoffice.ie/en/legislation_rules.aspx or here.
