AIPPI Dutch Group Conference Today
Today the Dutch group of AIPPI is assembling for its annual conference, once again at the Figi Hotel in Zeist. Under the chairmanship of Willem Hoyng (Howrey) the conference deals with a wide variety of actual IP matters. This morning Jaap Spoor reported on the scope of protection of design rights in Europa. Christo Hensen (IP coordinating vice president at the District Court The Hague), Ruprecht Hermans (Brinkhof) and Simon Dack (DBBW) discussed one year of experiences in the Netherland with regard to the implementation of the Enforcement Directive. At the moment Bruno Ninaber van Eyben (TU Delft) has just finished a lecture on industrial design.
In the afternoon there will be a debate program. On the agenda and relevant to report on this blog: 'Multiplicité des formes' Philips/Remington in a practice, a debate between Charles Gielen (Nauta) and Paul Steinhauser (SBHR), chaired by Constant van Nispen (DBBW), and Distinctiveness acquired through use in the Benelux: should we return to a national trade mark law?, a debate, chaired by Dirk Visser (KMVS), between Tobias Cohen Jehoram (DBBW) and Camille Janssen (Benelux Organisation for IP). So hurry up if you still want to attend! Best chances for those travelling from the West by the way (storm in the back)....
