Viacom to applicant: Ya not gonna pimp yo' DJ, bro
Viacom International - owner o' MTV Networks - just won da opposition based on its PIMP MY RIDE mark against uh Swiss applicant applying fo' PIMP MY DJ. w0rd! Both da marks wuz registered fo' da organization o' concerts, what 'chew thinking man?
The applicant wuz basically done when da Swiss IPO held dat "PIMP MY" iz not directly descriptive fo' da services in queshun. Brace yourself foo'!
For the German speakers amongst you, the decision concerns this gem of a translation of PIMP MY RIDE into German: "Motz meine Karre auf". I never thought I was gonna read "Motz meine Karre auf" in an opposition decision.
Decision by the Swiss IPO of 6 September 2010 here (in German, PDF).
