OHIM recognizes two new "World Expositions".
According to Communication No 1/08 of the President of the OHIM dated 24 January 2008, the World Expositions ‘Water and Sustainable Development’ (from 14 June to 14 September 2008 in Zaragoza, Spain - http://www.expozaragoza2008.es/) and ‘Better City - Better Life’ (from 1 May to 31 October 2010 in Shanghai, China - http://www.expo2010china.com/)
Accordingly, an applicant for a Community trade mark displaying goods or services in these events will benefit of the so-called "exhibition priority" in the sense that it can claim a right of priority from the specific date in which the marked goods of services were first displayed in such exhibitions, provided it files the application within a period of six months from that first display.
