This webinar will explore the AI concept and related copyright issues. In particular, the webinar will provide an overview of how AI is regulated in Europe citing relevant case-law in the copyright field and provide an overview of legislative initiatives. The webinar will also provide an outlook on how these issues are dealt with in the US discussing the work made for hire doctrine as a possible solution to AI created works. The speakers will also address the need for a new legislative framework for works created by robots and to wrap up the seminar the speakers will invite the audience to participate in an interactive discussion on if copyright should protect AIs as authors. The webinar has been organised by the MARQUES Copyright Team.
