JPO data now available on Designview
Design data from Japan is available on Designview as of 4 December 2017. The Japan Patent Office (JPO) is the 62nd office to participate in the design search tool.
The addition of the JPO adds more than 525,000 designs. As of today, there is information on 13,182,834 designs in total on Designview.
Participating offices include EUIPO, USPTO, WIPO, SIPO, KIPO, TURKPATENT, IGE-IPI (Switzerland), INPI (Brazil), ARIPO and ROSPATENT as well as the national European offices and the Benelux office.
The addition of the JPO was announced in the December 2017 issue of EUIPO's Alicante News. This also stated that since Designview was introduced, there have been more than 3.1 million searches from 159 countries. Among the most frequent users are those in Germany, the UK and Spain.
