Who we all are...
Enforcement Database available for design owners too!
Great news for design right holders in Europe. We have just heard from Peter Hedin (Observatory Operations and Projects, OHIM), who writes as follows:
"The Enforcement Database is a tool built upon TM-view and Design-view to help right holders to protect their rights against counterfeiting and piracy. In this respect, I would like to clarify one thing regarding the prerequisite to register an account. It is actually possible also to use a design as a base for your account provided that it is a Community design or a national design registered in a Member State that is part of Design-view. I reckon that the wording of our earlier communication may have been misleading in this respect.
We would be grateful if you could publish a corrective that clarifies this matter.
Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience".
Thanks so much, Peter -- this is most welcome news for us all! And thanks for letting us know so quickly!
