Poland opts for Locarno design classes

Poland opts for Locarno design classes
By Locarno Notification 66, WIPO has just let us know that Poland will be operating the Locarno classification system from 22 January next. The full text of the notice reads thus:

Locarno Agreement Establishing an International Classification for Industrial Designs
Accession by the Republic of Poland
The Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) presents his compliments to the Minister for Foreign Affairs and has the honor to notify the deposit by the Government of the Republic of Poland, on October 22, 2013, of its instrument of accession to the Locarno Agreement Establishing an International Classification for Industrial Designs, signed at Locarno on October 8, 1968, as amended on September 28, 1979.
The said Agreement will enter into force, with respect to the Republic of Poland, on January 22, 2014.
This is another piece of welcome news that the world of design is coming that little bit closer together.
