Who we all are...
Undressed, and awaiting your close attention ...
"Undressed: a brief history of underwear" is the slightly saucy title of an exhibition of underwear which can be found at the Victoria & Albert Museum in London's Kensington art-and-culture zone. This exhibition, which runs till 12 March 2017, focuses on developments in underclothing over the past two hundred years or so, mainly in the UK, France and the United States.
The exhibits are of notable interest to readers of this weblog in that they make reference to registered designs and patents granted or articles with novel design or innovative content. Given that the contours and configuration of the limbs of the human body, taken in conjunction with the functional utility of the garments in question, provide substantial limitations in terms of what may be protected, the degree of creativity displayed in this field is quite remarkable.
Details of the exhibition can be accessed via its web page here.
