Ireland makes design data available to Designview
Good news for design practitioners and their clients is that, with effect from 15 December 2014, the Irish Patents Office has made its design data available to the Designview search tool. The integration of the Irish data into Designview is described by the Irish Patents Office as "a concrete result of the Cooperation Fund programme managed by OHIM in collaboration with its European partners" (the Cooperation Fund being a positive outcome from OHIM's famous cash-mountain, following the fixing of higher-than-necessary office fees).
The integration of Ireland's data into Designview brings in almost 2,000 Irish designs. Adds the Office: "Designview now provides information and access to about 3.6 million designs in total". Since the introduction of Designview in November 2012, the tool has served more than 800,000 searches from 135 different countries, with users from Spain, Germany and the UK among the most frequent visitors.
