Hague System: celebratory Symposium ahead
The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) is holding an International Symposium to mark the 15th Anniversary of the Geneva (1999) Act of the Hague Agreement Concerning the International Registration of Industrial Designs. The symposium, entitled "International Design Registrations Go Global", takes place at WIPO's headquarters in Geneva, on June 19, 2014, just after the fourth session of the Working Group on the Legal Development of the Hague System for the International Registration of Industrial Designs, which will take place in Geneva, from June 16 to 18, 2014. The International Symposium will be held in English.
The objectives of this International Symposium are
(i) to have a wide discussion on the operation of the Hague System for the International Registration of Industrial Designs;
(ii) to share views on perspectives of its development, and
(iii) to establish a dialogue between the International Bureau of WIPO, national IP Offices of Contracting Parties, IP Offices of potential acceding countries and the business community.
A general information document (document H/SYM/GE/14/INF/1) and the provisional program (document H/SYM/GE/14/INF/2 Prov.) are available in English on the WIPO website here. Other working documents will be made available at the WIPO website in due course.
To facilitate registration, participants are asked to register online before June 12, 2014, by clicking here.
Questions in relation to this International Symposium may be addressed to Yves Closet (Head, Information and Promotion Section, The Hague Registry, Brands and Designs Sector), at Intreg.mail@wipo.int.
