Denmark: Royal complaint against use of the name "Princess Mary's Tea"
German glossy Bunte today reports that Danish tea company "Te Specialisten" had to stop marketing a tea mixture named after Denmark's Crown Princess Mary after a complaint by the Danish Palace. According to Bunte the tea mixture, a blend of of black tea, sunflower buds and liquorice, which was sold under the name "Princess Mary's Tea" (Prinsesse Mary's Te), was seen as an attempt to financially profit from Crown Princess Mary's popularity. A spokesperson for the tea company stated that the company had been unaware of the rules concerning the names of the Royal family and would in future sell the tea simply as "Mary's Tea". A spokesperson for the Palace was quoted saying that it was not often that they had to deal with such matters, but that now and again they did occur. Bunte further reports that a second tea mixture named after Princess Isabella, the daughter of Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary, also had to be renamed and is now being sold as "Isabella's Tea".
