France: decline in national trade marks filings for 2008
INPI published figures which reflect the current economic situation. Whereas in previous years and in the first months of 2008, the number of new applications rose steadily (between +4% and +5%), the downturn of the second semester affected the yearly statistics: 74 411 applications were filed in 2007 and only 73 956 in 2008 (-0,6 %).
On the topic of "Trade Marks and the Downturn", Class 46 would like to remind its readers that this will be the subject of a seminar to be held in Central London on Tuesday 17 February 2009 (further details on the right column of the blog).
