Spain - The Spanish Trade Marks Office receives the "Highly Commended" distinction by the Global Anti Counterfeiting Group.

Spain - The Spanish Trade Marks Office receives the "Highly Commended" distinction by the Global Anti Counterfeiting Group.
As reported on their official website, the Spanish Patents and Trade Marks Office (SPTO) has received the "Highly Commended" distinction from the Global Anti Counterfeiting Group (CACG). The CACG defines itself as
"an international network of national and regional IP protection and enforcement organisations set up by those groups to exchange and share information, and to participate in appropriate joint activities to solve specific IPR enforcement challenges in their respective national or regional areas"
The SPTO's General Director Mr. Alberto Casado (ex OHIM's Vice-President) took the occasion to remark the SPTO's last efforts in the protection of Intellectual Property rights, as the recent enactment of the “Manual of Best Practices in the Prosecution of Infringing Activities” (for further information please see a specific post on this topic).
