EUIPO and European Commission to host GI conference
The EUIPO and the European Commission’s DG GROW-DG AGRI will hold a conference on geographical indications titled “Safeguarding heritage, cultivating future” in Alicante on 28 and 29 January 2025.
Readers interested in this topic should note the date and look out for further information including the agenda shortly.
The conference follows the new EU regulation on GIs for craft and industrial products and the amendments to the legislation on GIs for wine, spirit drinks and agricultural products.
The conference will bring together experts from various jurisdictions including legislators, academics, producers, producer associations, national authorities and lawyers.
Panels will consider the challenges and developments ahead as well as how best to identify opportunities in the field.
Class 46 will publish more information when it is available.
You can find out more about GIs in the EU on EUIPO’s dedicated GI Hub which is available here.
