Who we all are...
Celebrating World IP Day 2020
Today (26 April) is World Intellectual Property Day and the theme is “Innovate for a Green Future”.
WIPO has a dedicated page featuring articles, webinars, data and a message from Director General Francis Gurry. It also includes a social media kit, promotion toolkit and publicity materials.
Among the articles available on the site are “Design rights and sustainability”, “Supporting environmental sustainability with GIs: the case of Madd de Casamance” and “How trademarks can promote sustainability”.
The WIPO Magazine has a special issue exploring IP and green innovation.
Pledge Map
The dedicated page includes a link to the World IP Day 2020 Pledge Map, where you can sign the pledge and make a specific commitment to build a greener future. Corporations, government offices, research institutions, inventors, researchers and other individuals can sign the pledge map.
MARQUES supports the aims of this year’s World IP Day, and endeavours to promote sustainability in all its activities and events. It also encourages members to examine the pledge map and to make a commitment if appropriate.
WIPO is not organising any physical events for World IP Day this year, and encourages virtual activities rather than physical activities, in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.
