Have your say on rights protections in the domain name system
The MARQUES Cyberspace Team is hosting a webinar on Thursday 23 April from 13.00 CEST/12 noon BST. All members are welcome to join.
For the past two years, a Working Group in ICANN has been reviewing the Rights Protection Mechanisms that were used in Round 1 of the new gTLDs. These included the URS, the Trademark Clearinghouse, Trademark Claims and Sunrise schemes.
MARQUES has participated in this review and will be submitting comments on the final report later this month which will, in part, shape how rights are protected in Round 2 of the new gTLD programme. This is expected to start sometime in 2022.
