Madrid System and e-filing in Canada
On June 17, the Canadian Intellectual Property Office became the first office to invite trade mark applicants to use Madrid e-filing for their international trademark applications from day one.
For more information on Canada’s accession to the Madrid Protocol, which took effect yesterday, see this Class 46 blog post by Sanjukta Tole of the International Trade Mark Law and Practice Team.
WIPO has published further details about e-filing at the Canadian office, including a new feature that enables applicants to access and respond to irregularity letters.
