Poland: still problems with OSCYPEK
The Polish newspaper Gazeta Wyborcza reports that only one baca (senior shepherd in the Tatra mountains) is allowed to produce OSCYPEK. He is not able to satisfy the market demand for this kind of product of course. Consumers may find similar cheese in spindle shapes at Gubalówka markets with its names changed to "traditional", "goat's cheese", "salty" or "golka". Polish highlanders are indignant at the European Union's rules regarding the production process of OSCYPEK.
