The Economic Times reports that India's Tata Motors Ltd is preparing for "an outright purchase" of the Jaguar and Land Rover luxury brands which are currently owned by Ford. Citing sources close to the development The Economic Times further writes that Ford appears to have changed its initial plans to retain a minority stake as it is convinced about the future development of these two brands in the hands of the Tata. However, a more recent report by the same newspaper suggests that the purchase may not come cheaply.
