WIPO Roving Seminar roves to Italy

The Italian Patent and Trade Mark Office (UIBM) and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) are sharing a  Roving Seminar on WIPO Services and Initiatives on 6 May 2014 (if you don't know about WIPO's Roving Seminars, there's an explanation at the bottom of this blog post). The venue is the headquarters of the Italian Chamber of Commerce (Unioncamere), thus symbolising the strong focus on the use of WIPO services by Italian corporations and SMEs.

Participation in the seminar is free of charge, but registration with the UIBM is requested (you can register online by clicking here. Online registration is available here. Be quick if you plan to register -- the first 100 responses will be the lucky ones!

The programme for the event is of great interest to the Italian members of MARQUES. After Loredana Gulino (Director, UIBM) and Yo Takagi (WIPO Assistant Director General) open the event, an outstanding Italian trade mark owner will make the keynote speech.

*********************************************************

The Roving Seminars present a comprehensive view of the useful functions WIPO offers users from the countries concerned, including companies, academia, research institutions, lawyers, public administrations and all types of creators and innovators. The very practical presentations focus on the global IP systems, including the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) and the Madrid System for the International Registration of Marks; the normative programme, including recently adopted WIPO Treaties and ongoing negotiations; major economic studies, such as the recently published World Innovation Index; global databases for IP, such as Patent Scope and platforms and tools for the connected knowledge economy, such as WIPO Case for Global Dossier, the Digital Access Service. WIPO Lex  or WIPO Green. In some instances the Seminars are followed by private sessions with speakers in order for the participants to engage freely into a more specific technical discussion. You will find here programmes and presentations for the events held so far.
