MARQUES teams up with HKTDC to deliver benefit in China
The MARQUES China Team (which you can read all about here) has been active of late. What has it been up to, you may be wondering? Let us explain.
The Team has established an alliance with the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC
) to further the Team's objectives of assisting European brand owners navigate the complex brand-protection issues presented by China, as well as working with officials to increase communication and provide guidance to Chinese brand owners on European IP matters.
Among other things, the HKTDC organises an Business of IP Asia Forum in Hong Kong. This is held in December each year, and is now in its third year. MARQUES
is supportive of this initiative to encourage promotion of and respect for trade marks in this part of the world and has therefore agreed to become an Honorary Adviser to the Council to assist in shaping the Business of IP Asia Forum.
As part of the alliance the HKTDC is offering concessional rates to MARQUES
members to attend the Forum - here is a link to the Forum's website
MARQUES has previously convened seminars in China and is pleased to be able to work with the Hong Kong Trade Development Council on future events to promote IP in China.
