DPMA publishes Annual Report for 2012
The German Patent and Trademark Office (DPMA) has now published its annual report for 2012, which is currently only available in a German but should be available in an English language version in due course.
As always, the report includes plenty of statistics and information on German trade marks, designs and patents. As regards to German national trade marks, most applications were filed by German applicants, with the majority of foreign applicants being from Switzerland, the US, Bulgaria and China (see illustration to the left). Within Germany, most applications come from applicants from North Rhine-Westphalia (12568), followed by Bavarian applicants (10072), and applicants from Baden-Wuerttemberg (7413).
The annual report for 2012 (and earlier years) can be accessed via the DPMA’s website here (German version) and here (English versions currently only available until 2011).
