The Austrian Patent Office has now published its annual report for 2007. The report includes information on trade marks, designs and patents as well as detailed (trade mark) statistics. In 2007 8664 national trade mark applications were filed at the Austrian Patent Office. 7,844 applications were filed by Austrians, which corresponds to a domestic proportion of 90.5 per cent. The number of trade mark registrations remains roughly unchanged at 6,469 registrations in 2007. The Austrian Patent Office reports that by the end of 2007 "...there were 114,034 signs protected as national trade marks. Some 237,070 signs are protected as international and 29,807 as Community trade marks."

The Austrian patent office has also published a list of the "Austria's top trade marks of 2007" based on their economic value. The top three marks are:

1. Red Bull,

2. Swarovski
3. Raiffeisen

Another interesting statistic sets out the "top 10 Austrian trade mark registrants of 2007". These are:

3. Verlagsgruppe News (38 registrations)
