Langres cheese PDO gets a makeover
As usual, the Official Journal provides no hyperlink to the application to make a non-minor amendment to the specification of this cheese, which makes it inconvenient for any interested party to ascertain what the effect of that amendment is. The details may be found in a document entitled Publication of an amendment application pursuant to Article 6(2) of Council Regulation (EC) No 510/2006 on the protection of geographical indications and designations of origin for agricultural products and foodstuffs, which you can find by clicking here and scrolling down. The amendments appear to relax some of the requirements previously made in respect of Langres cheese, which presumably has the effect that it will be easier to qualify for the right to use the appellation than was previously the case.
