New list of EU mineral water names published
A new List of Natural Mineral Waters Recognised by Member States has recently been published in the online Official Journal of the European Union. It's 64 pages long and you can read it in full here.

New list of EU mineral water names published
A new List of Natural Mineral Waters Recognised by Member States has recently been published in the online Official Journal of the European Union. It's 64 pages long and you can read it in full here.
This document lists the (i) trade description, (ii) name of source and (iii) place of exploitation of thousands of mineral waters, by country of origin. Further lists of the names of minerals originating from third countries but recognised in EU Member States are also furnished. Some of the names are marked as being registered as trade marks; others will be familiar to readers as protected geographical indications. It is a useful resource for anyone producing or distributing water and other similar beverages and who wants to avoid either conflict with an earlier established water name or the frustration of trying to acquire goodwill in such a name.
The list is published In accordance with Article 1 of Directive 2009/54 on the exploitation and marketing of natural mineral waters.
