Spain – Custom reports 2010 statistics.

The Spanish economic newspaper Cinco Días reports that during year 2010 the Spanish “Agencia Tributaria” (Tax Authority) seized over 10,400,000 infringing items, amounting a total of 127,190,000.- Euros.

Here goes some nice statistics:

  • 35% of the seized products were introduced through the Valencia harbour (that opened 162 files, 60% of those have ended up in Court).
  • 94,7% of the said products were originated in China.
  • 58,7% of the seized products consist in stationary products, 8,5% were clothing accessories, 5% were clothing and footwear, while 3,3% consist of cosmetics and perfumes.
