OHIM electronic certified copies: not always accepted
From Rachel Harrison comes the following useful information:

"Following the launch of OHIM’s new electronic certified copy service, we attempted to use one of these to support a priority claim in a new application in Mexico. We were told by the local attorneys that the Mexico Office won’t accept the electronic version. I have spoken to OHIM today and after a few minutes conversation with the Information Centre it seems that the electronic certified copies will not be accepted in many countries. The upshot seems to be that they will be accepted in EU countries (where generally we don’t need them anyway) and some European countries (but not Switzerland according to the Information Centre). In most other territories (she mentioned Canada, Hong Kong, India, China and Argentina among others) we will need to request certified copies in the original manner by submitting a form and paying a fee. This way you are able to specify the country for which the copy is to be used and OHIM will then authorise the document accordingly".

Thanks for letting us know.  Class 46 looks forward to the swift acceptance of this excellent service of OHIM by other offices and will be pleased to hear from readers from every country in which local practice changes.
