German customs authorities seize fake Disney sport shoes
The German newspaper Frankfurther Rundschau reports that German customs authorities in Darmstadt, Germany, have seized several thousand fake Disney sport shoes imported from Hong Kong. A customs officer became sceptical after finding childrens' sport shoes bearing the Walt Disney logo in neutral cartons which had been imported as men's shoes. Disney's German attorneys confirmed that the goods are not original Disney products. Disney can now either bring criminal charges against the importer or consider an out of court settlement. The trade mark infringing "low quality plastic shoes with blinking lights" will now be destroyed under the official supervision.
