Easydate not so easy?
The Guardian today reports of a trade mark dispute between UK online dating agency "Easydate" and EasyGroup, the company of Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou. It appears that "Easydate" has been using the "Easydate" mark for several years but only now has found itself accused of trade mark infringement by taking unfair advantage of the easy brand as well as passing off.
It appears that both sides cannot even agree whether or not they have indeed been in contact in an attempt to settle or if so, whether that contact was conducted "without prejudice". No love lost here, the Guardian says and "Easydate's" shares have already fallen by 7 p to 104 p due to the conflict.
