UK Trade mark protection for "Mr Loophole"
The BBC reports that celebrity solicitor Nick Freeman (left) has trade marked his nickname "Mr Loophole" to stop other lawyers from using it. The solicitor is well-known for his success in motoring cases and specialises in exploiting legal loopholes to clear celebrity clients of driving charges. The BBC quotes him as saying:
Posted by: Birgit Clark @ 12.55"The media coined the term for me and while some might not know the name Nick Freeman, they usually have heard the name Mr Loophole ... In order to stop others in the legal profession using this name I have succeeded in my bid to protect the name ... I have received my certificate of registration so if anyone attempts to use the name, legal action can be taken."
