Cheese and nuts get PDO protection
There are two new provisions granting GI protection to protected designations of origin in Europe:
* Commission Regulation 20/2010 of 12 January 2010 entering a name in the register of protected designations of origin and protected geographical indications [Arzùa-Ulloa (PDO)]. Arzùa-Ulloa is a Spanish cheese.

* Commission Regulation 21/2010 of 12 January 2010 entering a name in the register of protected designations of origin and protected geographical indications [Pistacchio Verde di Bronte (PDO)]. Pistacchio Verde di Bronte (pistacchio nuts from Bronte, Sicily) are either consumed whole or used as a paste when making torroni, cassate and gelato.
