Switzerland: from 1 July 2007 - publication of trade marks only on www.swissreg.ch
On its website the The Swiss Federal Institute of Intellectual Property (IGE) has announced the following changes to the publication of trade marks:
"As of July 1, 2008, trademarks, patents, designs and topographies will no longer be published in the Swiss Commercial Gazette (SHAB), the Swiss patent gazette (+pat+) or the Swiss designs gazette (mod. dép.). The legally effective publication of new registrations and changes will be exclusively electronic via the Institute’s intellectual property database at http://www.swissreg.ch/".
According to the IGE the new procedure will provide faster access to information and the legally effective publication of newly registered trade marks will occur immediately after registration at http://www.swissreg.ch/.
Users can also set up a personalised electronic subscription at "MyPage", which is a personalised space that allows the user to save search queries and monitor rights. Further information on electronic publications will be available at on the IGE's website in April 2008.
