UK IPO: "informative session" on the Changes to Trade Mark Fees and Services
This might be of interest to our UK readers. Our readers will recall that the UK IPO is introducing new trade mark fees and services on 1 October 2009 (see Class 46 post here). However, if you ".... want to find out more about the changes the Intellectual Property Office is introducing to trade mark fees and services from 1 October" and are in London on 1 October 2009, the UK IPO offers an "informative session at the Science Museum (Kensington)" which will include an overview on all of the UK IPO's
"... new proposals including:
* A ‘Right Start’ service for trade marks allowing a deferred payment structure and offering more informal discussions with examiners;
* An E-Filing discount of £30;
* The option to suspend our ‘Fast Track’ service;
* The introduction of a fee for more than two series marks, restrictions of amending applications for series of marks, and
* Some minor revisions to trade mark tribunal fees."
"... (t)his event is primarily aimed at trade mark professionals and business advisors and will cost a non-refundable £20 per attendee. The evening starts at 17:00, with a presentation from Allan James, Head of Trade Mark Inter Partes Procedures and will then be followed by a question and answer session."
All this - and you there will even be 2 CPD points awarded for attending this session. Please click here to find out how to book on the UK IPO's website. Posted by: Birgit Clark @ 17.27
