Light read: celebrities and trade marks
The Guardian recently published a short tongue-in-cheek piece on the question of why celebrities trade mark their (last) name. We learn why veteran panto star Christopher Biggins (depicted on the right) will henceforth be simply known by his last name 'Biggins' and why he feels that trade mark protection is the way forward.
Class 46 has dutifully checked the UK trade mark register and it appears that Mr. Biggins has not yet filed a trade mark application to protect the "Biggins" mark. However, Class 46 can confirm that Britney Spears' Community Trade Mark No. 1610021 BRITNEY SPEARS does indeed cover "inflatable furniture" in class 20.
