A look at the latest Trademark World
The July-August issue of Informa's ten-times a year Trademark World has now been published. This issue has plenty to interest the European trade mark owner and brand expert. In "eBay notches more European victories in L’Oréal case", Franck Soutoul and Jean-Philippe Bresson (Inlex IP Expertise, France) review some high-profile litigation that has split the business community. Emma Armitage (Addleshaw Goddard LLP) analyses the recent Court of Justice ruling in COPAD v Dior, which has given heart to luxury brand owners who will look afresh at the role of selective distribution agreements in preventing unwanted grey trade. The recent BAVARIA brew dispute, between a Dutch trade mark owner and an organisation representing Bavarian brewers, also comes up for discussion.
