A Hanze University Student's Investigation in Trade Mark Protection

Spotted today on what seems to be an UFO website - http://www.abovetopsecret.com/ - a video produced by ip law students from Hanze University Groningen (?), investigating the frontiers of trade mark protection, starting with the Bavaria beer case (posted by Birgit on this blog), followed by a street investigation with regard to Bavaria's Dutch slogan (translated in English: 'And now first of all a .... Bavaria!'), followed by a crash course on the effectiveness of a figurative trade mark on beer cans and bottles, some remarks on colours as a trade mark, a reporter from London (talking on the possibility of registering the design of a bottle as a trade mark; something seems to go wrong however), some invalid conclusions on the Bavaria trade mark and last but not least the crash of a Bavaria beer can. Shame on you Groningen! Warning: all in Dutch, but I trust your skills on sign- and image-language (www.youtube.com/watch?v=tNgBeP5Ncns).
