Latest edition of Alicante News
The latest issue of Alicante News, the OHIM's monthly newsletter, has now been published. The May edition's country overview focuses on Germany and we learn some interesting facts, including:
"... word marks are the most popular with German enterprises and account for 68% of applications, followed by figurative marks (30%). The most popular goods and services applied for are in classes 9, 42 and 35."The subject of James Nurton's in-depth interview is Vladimir Rott of Rott Ruzicka & Guttmann. There is the usual selection of case law from the Office itself, the ECJ and from the Court of First Instance and the Boards of Appeal. The newsletter also tells us how a Community trade mark for sterilising fluid has been revoked for “non-use” and informs about user involvement in the e-Business design process. Last but not least it includes statistics for April 2009.
