By identifying the key actors and the procedures in place in the Member States to enforce agri-food geographical indications, the study details the landscape of each national control system and gives practical information to users on the legal remedies available in the event of infringement. An up-to-date contact list of all control entities is provided to support networking across the EU. The study has been carried out through data collection from the Member States, as well as desk and field research and in collaboration with the Commission. The full report in English and the executive summaries in 23 languages can be found the Observatory website. The MARQUES GI Team will provide an analysis of the study in the February 2018 issue of HouseMARQUES.
