WIPO Madrid System Users Meeting on 3rd May

WIPO is hosting a Madrid System Users’ Meeting on Sunday 3rd May during the 137th INTA Annual Meeting in San Diego

The last 12 months saw significant developments in the Madrid System for trade mark holders and their representatives:

  • The System expanded into new markets and is now available in 111 countries;
  • A record number of international applications was received demonstrating increased awareness of and confidence in the System;
  • New and improved online services were created to make registration and maintenance more efficient;
  • The Common Regulations changed on 1st January 2015, making it easier to renew an application and offering relief in case deadlines are missed.

The Madrid System Users’ Meeting provides a unique opportunity to engage with members and WIPO experts on these developments and the ongoing evolution of the System, and to hear from representatives of the newest members – OAPI, Cambodia and Zimbabwe.

The event takes place in Room 10 of the San Diego Convention Center from 11.00 am to 1.00 pm and all trade mark practitioners are welcome.

WIPO also has a booth (number 1414) at the INTA Annual Meeting, where representatives of WIPO and IP offices will be available for discussions.
