One of the tasks undertaken by the Education Team is to maintain the Book List. This can be found on the MARQUES website under “Publications”: http://www.marques.org/booklist/default.asp.The list contains those books that our team and our colleagues and associates consider to be useful references for their work. Please help us to provide a useful database for MARQUES members. Very soon now we hope to have a facility for others to add their own opinions of these texts and your input would be very welcome. If you know of any other good books please let us know and we will add these to the list.
We are responsible for the administration of the Lewis Gaze Memorial Award and this is well in hand for the award to be made to the successful Danish students, at the conference in Copenhagen.
We have organised several workshops around Europe on ‘drafting co-existence agreements’, which have been well received by the participants.
We are working to forge links with other organisations, in particular with ELSA (European Law Students Association) and with ABA (American Bar Association).
Professional accreditation is now available from the Secretariat following an extensive review by us of the requirements of the territories, countries and states from which most of our conference delegates are based. Certificates of attendance are available from the Secretariat on request for any MARQUES conference, workshop or seminar.
If you have additional special requirements please let me know and we will try to put procedures in place for you to be able to take credit for your attendance (pre-approval for the UK is already in place). Attendance at the conference provides scope for claiming several hours of continuing professional development, and we believe that this is a useful benefit for the MARQUES membership.
We have a few other items that we are pursuing, but if you have any proposals for future items for consideration by the Education Team do get in touch.
