Copyright Directive tracker

The MARQUES Copyright Team has a launched a tracker on the implementation of the Directive on Copyright in the Digital Single Market

There have not been many legislative developments in recent years in the European Union that have been as fiercely fought as the Directive EU 2019/290 on copyright and related rights in the Digital Single Market.

After many discussions, the Directive was finally published on 17 May 2019. The Member States are required to implement the Directive until 07 June 2021.

As the copyright regime is not fully harmonised in the European Union, the Member States have a certain degree of flexibility on the adoption of the Directive, which makes it is more important than ever to be up to date on the status of implementation of the Directive.

In order to keep MARQUES members on track on the status of the implementation, the Copyright Team, led by Franz Gernhardt and Christian Schumacher, has developed together with MARQUES a copyright tracker that allows all Members to quickly check the status of the implementation.

The Copyright Team thanks the Team members and other MARQUES members for their contributions to the tracker. The tracker is accessible here and will be regularly updated.
